WORK: PROJECTS: HORSE
1995
The unexpected presence of horses in a Hawaiian landscape provided the opportunity to visually explore their power, strength and gentleness and experience their guiding powers.
Symbolically the horse represents the Soul, youth, strength, sexuality, masculinity, courage and positive forces. However the horse also suggests the negative, dark aspect; a chthonic creature, a psychopomp, a liaison between the unconscious and conscious realms, associated with forces of life and death, danger, light and darkness, fire and water.
